Download and install
version 2.3.0.23874
This is a free update.
After downloading WPO, uninstall any prior version
through the Windows Control Panel. Then run the setup program to install
the latest version of WPO.
Only those files that were
installed will be deleted. Any files you have added to the directory, to
include the database (WPO. mdb), will not be deleted. None of your data
will go missing.
It is important to reinstall the program into
the old directory. You will then be updated to the current version and
will be able to work with the data you have been working with.
Example: The default install path on most machines
is: "C:\Program Files\PinderSoft\Writers Project Organizer." If you
installed an earlier version into this path, then install the current
version into this path also so you can continue working with your data. If
you install the current version into any other path, then you will not be
able to work with your prior data until you locate it and copy it into the
directory you installed the current version into.
And, as always, it's a good idea to back up your
database beforehand.
Version 3.0
Work has started on the next major update. A
Christmas release is planned. This will be a free update for all
registered users.
What's new:
Submissions. You can now log a submission from anywhere in the
program and submit to the agent, agency or publisher of your choice. The
prior restrictions have been lifted.
Help Files: Will be moved online.
File & Folder manager: You can administer and organize your
writing files from within Writers Project Organizer (WPO). If you move a
folder containing a manuscript to another location on your hard drive, use
the File & Folder manager to perform the task. While moving the folder,
WPO will check every file being moved. If that file is in the WPO
databank, WPO will change the location and save it to the database. You
will not have to go into the program and save the new location manually.
WPO does this automatically.
Info Manager: The Documents, Research, Websites and Vocab pages
have been combined into one page for your convenience.
Data grids: have replaced the majority of list
views. You can now enter data directly into most grids and bypass the text
fields, and Save and Delete buttons. The Info Manager page is data grid
enabled. There are no more text fields for data entry or buttons to click.
Drag & Drop: Treeviews support dragging and
dropping.
Check back often to view screenshots and the help
files posted online. We're also thinking about releasing a beta version to
registered users, but that's only a thought at the moment.
